Briefly describe a corporate merger that you have read about recently or been part of as an employee. What kind of a merger was it? How well is it working from the perspectives of the various stockholders? As far as you are able to determine, what factors are contributing to the success or lack of it?

Answer:

Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox is one of the most significant mergers of the last years.

Step-by-step explanation:

Disney acquired Fox on March, 2019. With it, Disney acquired former fox subsidiaries: Fox News, Fox Sports, Fox business, among others.

This merger had a value of over $70 billion dollars.

The value of Disney's stock as listed in the New York Stock Exchange, went from $108 per share before the merger, to $139 per share after the merger, and it continue to increase in value reaching a peak of $151 per share in November, 2019.

Although the strong economy of the time is also to be taken into account when assessing this values, it can be easily determined that it was the merger what increased the value of Disney's stock the most, and for this reason we can say that stockholders have responded positively to the merger.
