A hospital expansion is being planned for a community. As part of the scope of this project, it will be necessary to close or shut down the access routes into the emergency room for major remodeling. However, because this is the only hospital for trauma cases within 50 miles, it is not possible to completely shut down the ER. The project team will have to find the means to remodel the ER while allowing for continuous operations of the unit. This is an example of what________.

Answer: Project Constraint

Explanation: Project constraint is simply refered to as whatever affects or restricts the actions or work of a project team.

It is not possible to completely shut down the ER for the remodeling because the closest hospital for trauma cases is miles away thus a need to keep the ER open while remodeling work is in progress, keeping the unit open while the remodeling is in progress is an example of project constraint because it restricts the actions of the project team so they will have to work around the existing project constraint.
