Answer:

The area of the shape is 42.5 units^2

Explanation:

3.5 x 9 = 31.5 so the area if the rectangle is 31.5 units

2 x 2 /2 = 2 so the area of the smaller triangle is 2 units

5 x 2 / 2 = 5 so the area of the bigger triangle is 5 units

Then 2 x 2 = 4 so the area of the square is 4 units

31.5 + 2 + 5 + 4 = 42.5

I just did this math so I hope it is correct.

Answer:

Explanation:

Rectangle:

length = 9 units

Width = 3.5 units

Area = length * width

= 9*3.5

= 31.5 square units

Trapezium:

Length of parallel side: a = 2 units and b = 9 units

height h = 2 units

Area=((a+b)*h))/(2)\\\\=((9+2)*2)/(2)\\\\=(11*2)/(2)\\\\

= 11 square units

Area of shape = area of rectangle + area of trapezium

= 31.5 + 11

= 42.5 square units
