Ok so i ask in my last question: An animal shelters hauses only cats and dogs, and there are 25% more cats than dogs. If there are 40 cats, how many dogs are there which gave a total of:32 but now it ask me: How many animals are in total.

Is due tonight

Answer: I think the answer is 72 if u add a total of 32 plus 40 it equals to 72

Answer:

72 animals

Explanation:

Let d = dogs

d+d25% = cats

Changing to decimal form

d+.25d= cats

d(1.25) =cats

There are 40 cats

d(1.25) =40

Divide each side by 1.25

1.25d/1.25 = 40/1.25

d =32

There are 32 dogs and 40 cats

The total number of animals

32+40 = 72
