12-8=4

so the y value N is 4

Explanation:

MN + NP = MP

We know that MN is 4/9 of MP

First we will look at the x distance

That total x distance is

-19 to 8 or 27 units

4/9 of 27 is 12

Add this to coordinate of M

Add 12 to -19 = -7

Now we will look at the y distance

12 to -6 or 18 units

18 * 4/9 = 8

Subtract this from coordinate of M since we are going down

12 -8 =4

The coordinate of N is (-7,4)
