Explanation:

in this circle, BC is the diameter,

hence, BCA is a semicircle,

and we know that, angle subtended by a semicircle at any point inside the semicircle is 90°,

therefore by angle sum property of triangles, we have

in ΔABC

∠A + ∠B + ∠C = 180°

=> 90° + 50° + ∠C = 180°

=> ∠C = 180° - 140°

=> ∠C = 40°
