In conjunction with the poem "Caged Bird" does Mrs. Flowers teach the young Marguerite to "sing"? If yes, in what way? If no, explain.

Answer: yes

Mrs Flowers, by encouraging Marguerite to read out loud and recite, teaches her to "sing". After being abused by a relative as a child, Marguerite had stopped talking. Her teachers and family members were worried about it but could not figure out what to do. Mrs Flowers sees her potential and encourages her talents. She makes young Marguerite realize that language is a unique gift that only we possess and shows her the importance of the spoken word and human communication. By doing so, she helps the young girl rediscover her voice, her song.
