Answer: Women in the Civil War had very important roles to play. One important role in the Civil war they had was being depended on as nurses to help the wounded soldiers. Without women volunteering and helping as nurses who knows what would've happened to all the wounded soldiers. It's true that there were some men as apart of the medical corpse but if the women hadn't been there to offer support there would have been many casualties. Some of the brave women in the war even went as far as dressing up as men to help on the battlefield!
