Answer: x = 2

Explanation:

  • 8(4 - x) = 7x + 2
  • = 8(-x + 4) = 7x + 2
  • = -8x + 32 = 7x + 2
  • = -8x + 32 - 32 = 7x + 2 - 32
  • = -8x = 7x + 2 - 32
  • = -8x = 7x = 30
  • = -8x - 7x = 7x + 30 - 7x
  • = -15x = 7x - 30 - 7x
  • = -15x = 30
  • -15x/-15 = -30/-15
  • = x = -30/-15
  • = x = 2

And thats how you get the answer!
