Clearly, this shows that she is very strong and willing to do work. Since the picture is of a woman, the message is targeted to women. Why? Because all the men were out fighting on the war front, they left many of their factor jobs behind. With no one to work, the economy was falling behind. Who better else to substitute those men than to call upon women to take those places? The purpose of this poster was to motivate women to contribute to their country and take their husbands', sons', and boyfriends' places at factories so that America could still prosper during this difficult wartime.
