A train is going 30 m/s and speeds up to 80 m/s over a period of 30 seconds along with a set of train tracks. What is his acceleration during this time period along the track?

To find the acceleration, we can use a kinematic equation (shown below).

vf = vi + a x t

80 = 30 + a(30)

50 = 30a

a = 5/3 = 1.67 m/s
