C. elegans is a nematode that is an excellent model system to probe protein function during early development. Inactivation of the C. elegans lis-1 gene results in a defect in the position of nuclei in certain neuronal cells during development.

a.If you wanted to ask whether lis-1 was interacting in cooperation with dynein, what result might you expect to see in animals with inactivated dynein?

b.If you had fluorescently labeled lis-1 and dynein proteins, where would you expect to find them in the animal?
