PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! PLEASE!!!

The Great Depression was the largest and longest economic decline in U.S. history. People were left jobless, homeless, and hungry. Florida was no different. With Florida already suffering from damage caused by hurricanes, the Great Depression hit Florida sooner than the rest of the country. One problem was that once the stock market crashed, people no longer vacationed in Florida. A large part of Florida's economy relied on tourism. To make matters worse, a swarm of fruit flies destroyed many of Florida's citrus crops.

Based on the text, which statement best explains why the Great Depression impacted Florida sooner than other states?

A. The state was trying to recover from hurricanes, a lack of tourists, and the devastation of citrus crops.
B. Citizens of the state were especially hungry because they had been without jobs for more than a year.
C. The state spent all of its money on tourist attractions, making it impossible to help jobless citizens.
D. The destruction of citrus crops affected the food supply in the state, making it difficult to feed residents and tourists.
