Answer:

This question is unclear; What stereotypes? religion, race, gender, ect.

a stereotype is an over-generalized belief about a particular category of people. It is an expectation that people might have about every person of a particular group.

Here's my response:

Because the media is a powerful source, it can influence the viewers perception on others (through displayed consistency) and turn it to a whole belief of it being factual.

The media perpetuate stereotypes by representing a 'category of people' poorly or inaccurate.

for example: Race

One study shows that black people or mostly portrayed as criminals in the media and have less positive portrayal. Whereas, white white people are mostly shown as victim of crime.

- I hope this helped tbh.

Answer:

They do because they have access to vital information and sometimes they from the genuine messages form fake similar ones and get it doctored. The masses believes mostly on what the media put up and that is why a campaign again fake news and more on investigative journalism has been on going.
