Answer:

The answer would be C. 40

Explanation:

(Kinda hard for me to explain because of symbol)

First, you would use the Sum Rule:

∑a∨n + b∨n = ∑a∨n + ∑b∨n

∑∧4∨i=1 (6i) - ∑∧4∨i=1 (5) <- Leave this one for later

Apply the multiplication rule:

∑c · a∨n = c · ∑a∨n

Then the Sum Formula

= 60

Now, do it to the other part that was left for later!

Do the same process for first part!

1) Sum Rule

2) Multiplication Rule

3) Sum Formula

= 20

Then subtract!

60 -20 = 40

Sorry, if you didn't understand! The sysmbols for me were hard to put and would take up alot of time!

I hope this helped!

Answer: 40

Explanation:

Split the series into two separate series

Sum 6n - Sum 5

Sum 6n = 60

Sum 5 = 20

60 - 20 = 40
