Answer:

60 words per minute

Explanation:

Ingrid typed following number of words in 6 hours:

4,500 word document, a 9,000 word document, and a 6,750 word document.

So, the total number of words that Ingrid typed in 6 hours = 4500 + 9000 + 6750 = 20250 words

Bobby typed following number of words in 5 hours:

1,750 word document and a 14,000 word document.

So, the total number of words that Bobby typed in 5 hours = 1750 + 14000 = 15750 words.

In total both Ingrid and Bobby took 5 + 6 = 11 hours to type 20250 + 15750 = 36000 words

We have to find how many words did they type per minute. Lets convert, 11 hours to minutes first.

1 hour = 60 minutes

So,

11 hours = 11 x 60 = 660 minutes

Ingrid and Bobby typed 36000 words in 660 minutes. dividing 36000 by 660 will give us the number of words they both typed per minute.

So, the number of words they both typed per minutes =
(36000)/(660)=60 words per minute

Answer:

54

Explanation:

*Ingrid*

Total words are 4500+900+6750=20250 words

Rate per hour will be 20250÷6=3375 words per hour

*Bobby*

Total words will be 1750+14000=15750

Rate per hour will be 15750÷5=3150 words per hour

Average rate per hour will be

(3375+3150)/2=3262.5 worda per hour

Rate per minute will be 3262.5÷60=54.375 words per minute

Rounded off, this is approximately 54 words per minute
