A single force, or an unbalanced group of forces, must cause acceleration. That means that the object's speed, or the direction of its motion, or both, will change.

"Acceleration" means speed up, slow down, or turn.

Answer:

The force will displace the object.

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a somewhat ambiguous question, a plentiful amount of things can happen. But for the sake of simplicity lets say we have a box on a table, this box weighs 500 grams. The force currently being exerted on the box is 600 grams(maybe, from a gust of wind). And the opposite force exerted on the other end of the box is unmatched, for example 0 grams.

- it will displace the box across the table, using mechanical energy, and causing motion.
