Two-thirds of an ant colony is crushed by an elephant herd. The population before the crushing was 50% red and 50% black, and after the crushing, it was 70% red and 30% black. Is this evolution and, if so, what mechanism of evolution occurred? *

Depends, this shows that there can be the presumption that fire black ants are more aggressive and tried to fend off their ant colony while the red ants could be more conservative towards aggression.
