Answer:

68%

Explanation:

Initial volume of water in the tank before draining = 425 gallons

After 5 mins of draining, 32% of the volume of the water was present.

We would assume the 425 gallons of water in the bathtub means the bathtub is at 100% full capacity.

What percent of water is left in the tub after 5 minutes of draining is calculated as

100% - 32% = 68%

An explanation for my reasoning is because,

The initial quantity of water in the bathtub is 425 gallons

32% volume of water was drained after 5 mins

Volume of water drained after 5 mins in gallons = 32% × 425 gallons

= 136 gallons was lost after draining.

The volume of water left in the bathtub after draining for 5 minutes = 425gallons - 136gallons

= 289 gallons.

In other to know what 289 gallons of water after draining is in percentage =

( Number of gallons left in the bathtub after draining for 5 mins ÷ Total number of gallons of water initially present in bathtub) × 100%

= (289÷425) × 100%

= 68%

Hence, the percent of the water remains in the tub after five minutes is 68%.
