What are the similarities between deep frying and shallow frying someone pls answer quick !!!

I think don't think there is any similarities but to guess is they both use oil and fat(or at the food does) to cover some part of the food.

For shallow frying, the oil / fat covers only the lower part of the food in contact with the vessel. For deep frying, the oil / fat covers the food completely, i.e. the food is completely immersed in the oil / fat.
