X has to be 20 because 12 times 5 is 60 am and because it is a right triangle it is half the value so 20 times 30 is 600.

Answer:

x = 20

Explanation:

The formula for the area of a triangle is

Area = 1/2 Base * Height

To find out what x is, plug the numbers in the formula

600 = 1/2 5x * 12

Multiply 5x by 12

600 = 1/2 60x

Multiply 1/2 by 60x

600 = 30x

Divide by 30

20 = x

To see if this is correct, plug it in again..

600 = 1/2 5(20) * 12

Simplify 5(20)

600 = 1/2 100 * 12

Multiply 12 by 100

600 = 1/2 1200

Multiply by 1/2

600 = 600

x is equal to 20
