Lets take 12 as base (b) and 35 as perpendicular (p)

The hypotenuse (h) = x = ?

We know by using Pythagoras theorem


h^(2) =p^(2) +b^(2)


h^(2) =35^(2) +12 ^(2)


h^(2) = 1225 + 144\\h^(2)= 1369

h =
√(1369)

Therefore h = 37
