Formula for the area of a circle:

A = πr² (A = area π(pi) = 3.14....... r = radius)

You know:

r = 9.5 cm and you're using 3.14 for π, so substitute/plug it into the equation

A = πr²

A = (3.14)(9.5)² Find 9.5²

A = (3.14)(90.25)

A = 283.385 cm²
