Explanation:

you have to section off the two different rectangles inside of the shape then find the areas of both then add them together. So one rectangle would be 3 by 6 so area would be 18cm sqaured and the other would be 5 by 8 and the area would be 40cm sqaured and then add them together to get the total area of 58cm sqaured.
