Using the distributive property to transform 4(x +3) = 3(3x -1) how do I substitute 3 for x to see if it’s a true statement?

Answer:

4(3+3)=3(3(3)-1)

Explanation:

1) plug in the three

2) distribute

3) see if the answers gotten are the same if not than the statement is wrong

I know it looks a bit complicated but its not once you get the hang of it

4(x+3) = 3(3x-1)
4x + 12 = 9x - 3

x = 3
4(3) + 12 = 9(3) - 3
12 + 12 = 27 - 3
24 = 24 ✔️
