I remember reading Anne Frank's diary before, but the play I don't think I ever had.
As a matter of fact, her living situation compared to mine is far different.
- She was discriminated against as a Jew, forced to hide away in the house to avoid the eyes of the Nazis.
- The people with her were her family, and possibly some family friends (I can't remember vividly), but I knew she had siblings too (sister(s)). Because they were all Jews, they helped each other keep an eye on their discriminators, to avoid trouble and to keep safe.
- In the end, I remember she ended up in the concentration camp. It was sad that she died there due to hunger and disease. The nightmares of the camp, slavery, famine, and human experimentations. It was highly unlikely that any living person would survive these kind of conditions. It was living hell.
- All in all, I am free to roam around in my country, without fear of being abducted or discriminated, and I don't have to stay locked up in the house to hide away. My family and I are safe to stay in the country without any fear. Fortunately, concentration camps don't exist anymore either.
