Benjamin believes that 12% is equivalent to 50%. Is he correct? Why or why not?

Answer:

He is not correct as 12% of something is less than 50% due to 12 being less than 50

Explanation:

12% of 1 is much less than 50%.

Lets convert these two numbers to decimals by moving the decimal two places forward.

50.%=.5

12.%=.12

Now that visual representation is out of the way lets see how much more 50% is compared to 12%

12/50=.24*100(To add a percentage) = 24% of 50%

But overall you can see this by seeing which number is bigger.
