Explanation:

So for the first question, it's just solving for x. So, you cancel out the 3 from both sides (by adding it into both - 3 and - 2) and you get x = 1.

For the 2nd question, it is ALMOST the same as the first one. So, we know that if x = 1, it would be equal to the other side. However, we don't want to to equal, we want it to be greater then. What numbers are greater then 1? From the chart above, you could use 2, 3, or 4. As long it is bigger then 1 it could be used!!!
