Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco were French colonies at some points in history, and the influece in those countries can be felt in the fact that the second most spoken language is French, which works as a lingua franca along with Arabic. In some cities, like Algiers, French architecture is also evident.

Britain influenced Egypt, Italy, Libya, and Spain, some parts of Morocco, but to a lesser scale.
