He knew what it did, but he couldn’t understand why his grandfather stuck to this old thing instead of using a computer.

Maurice spoke up after a few minutes. "Gramps, you know this will be a lot easier to type if you use my laptop. You don’t have to worry about making any errors, and you don’t have to put in another paper every time you reach the bottom of the page. And no more of those messy black ribbons, either."

"That's the problem with you kids. You want everything the easy way," his grandfather replied, shrugging off the boy's questions.
