Write the introduction of a suspenseful scary story, using ONE of the story starters below!

- On a blustery, autumn evening three friends walked home from school through the graveyard that bordered their neighborhood.

- I heard a scream from the bedroom window, when I looked up from the yard, I saw my mother pointing behind me.

- I awoke suddenly, sitting straight up in bed, covered in sweat. Looking around as my eyes adjusted, I knew something was wrong.

For the first one: Can talk about what they saw, heard, felt. For example, “they felt like they were being followed”, “they heard a very alarming noise”. You can develop the plot as you go.

For the second one: “I couldn’t believe what I saw next. My body went numb as my mouth dried.” Could either be something scary or surprising.

The third one: Can talk about the temperature, surroundings, 5 senses. Could recall to a dream or go and check what seems off.
