area of triangle

= ½ ×s ×s

= ½s²

Given that the area of the triangle is 12.5 units²,

½s²= 12.5

Multiply both sides by 2:

s²= 12.5(2)

s²= 25

Square root both sides:


s = √(25)

s= 5 units

(reject negative value since s > 0)
