What is the probability that in two rolls of a single die, a man will roll a 2 on the first roll and a number greater than five on the second?

(B) 1/6

(E) None of the above

I got; (E) None of the above. Because I got 1/36.
Is this correct?

Answer:

That's right.

A 2 on the first roll means 1 possibility out of 6.

The only number greater than 5 in a dice is 6, therefore it's the same case from above.

1/6 on first roll

1/6 on second roll


(1)/(6) * (1)/(6) = (1)/(36)

I got A because the probability of rolling a 2 is 1/6 chance. Then the probability of getting a number greater than 5 is a 1/6 chance because there’s only one number bigger than five on a die. So I added them together got 2/6 and simplified down is 1/3
