Answer:

10

Explanation:

^1÷2 equals square root i can not put a square root sing since i am typing.

1. Start with the distance formula between 2 points which is the: ((y"- y')^2+(x" -x')^2))^1÷2

2. plug in the cordinates for (-5,-3) and (1,5)

with (x'= -5, y'= -3) and (x"= 1, y"= 5 )

3. know that you know that we have

d= ((5+3)^2)+(1+5)^2))^(1÷2)

4 this gives us ((8^2)+(6^2))^(1÷2)

5 know 8^2=64 and 6^2=36 eqaling to 64+36=100

6. know the (100)^(1÷2) = 10

7. so the distance between j and k is 10
