Distribute

3x -18 -8x = -2 +10x +5

Combine like terms

-5x -18 = 3 +10x

Add 5x to each side

-5x+5x-18 = 3+10x+5x

-18 = 3+15x

Subtract 3 from each side

-18-3 = -3+3+15x

-21 =15x

Divide each side by 15

-21/15 = 15x/15

-7/5 = x
