To find the slope(m), use the slope formula:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) And plug in the two points on the line

(-6, 3) = (x₁, y₁)

(3, -9) = (x₂, y₂)

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

m=(-9-3)/(3 - (-6)) (two negative signs cancel each other out and become positive)

m=(-9-3)/(3+6)

m=(-12)/(9) Simplify the fraction

m=(-4)/(3)
