Answer:

Fossil fuel consumption is vey harmful to the environment. When the fossil fuel is consumed, then a large amount of chemical substances are released which affect the environment. For example: Burning of fossil fuel release a large amount of harmful substances like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, dust, smoke, lead etc. The carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere trap a large amount of solar energy and this results in the increase of the average temperature of the earth, resulting in global warming.
