g(h(a)) = 6a-1

Explanation:

They are trying to confuse you for no reason.

it migt be easier if you think of g(a) instead as g(x)=2x-3

So h(a)=3a+1, and we pu it info g(x), which would make it 3a+1=x, so g(3a+1) = 2(3a+1)-3=6a+2-3=6a-1
