Joe's Canoes charges an initial fee of $20 plus $4 an hour. Callie's Canoes charges a flat rate of $14 an hour. Find the number of hours for which the total amount that both places charge would be the same.

HELP PLEASE :)

You should pick Callie for canoe because she is cheaper than the others

Answer:

2 Hours

Explanation:

In this situation, both canoe outlets only reach the same prices once because Callie's rate is a lot more expensive over time.

When plugging in the formula, where h represents the amount of hours a canoe is rented for Joe, y = 4h+20

And Charlie, y = 14h

2 is the only value for h where both equations are equivalent.
