the answer is A. a hockey puck is the shape of a circle. formula for area of a circle is πr2 so the radius of this is 1.5 and when you solve you get 7.06 which rounds to 7.1

Answer:

The answer to your question is 7.1 in²

Explanation:

Data

diameter = 3 in

Area = 2

Process

1.- Calculate the radius

radius = diameter/2

-Substitution

radius = 3/2

-result

radius = 1.5 in

2.- Calculate the area

Area = πr²

-Substitution

Area = (3.14)(1.5)²

-Simplification

Area = (3.14)(2.25)

-Result

Area = 7.065 in² ≈ 7.1 in²
