Can someone tell me if this is any good. My assignment is to write a suspenseful story but my teacher said she didn’t want us all to write a scary story, she said be creative so I thought of a love story. She gave me the first sentence and this is just a rough draft. Please let me know if it sounds like I’m dragging because I think I am.

I think it's really good. I don't think you're dragging, after all this is a suspenseful story. You have a good hook, you also nicely conveyed the emotion of the character, and you made the reader (me) want to read more. Overall, you did a really nice job.

Yes that is written well and maturily. Howerver I would check with grammerly just in case and to always get the best grade is to use big words and use specific details to show that you actually took your town to write the story but good job!
