Explanation: Early in 1960, to broaden the scope for recruitment beyond labor issues, the Student League for Industrial Democracy were reconstituted as SDS . They held their first meeting in 1960 on the University of Michigan campus at Ann Arbor, where Alan Haber was elected president.
