Explanation:

The series can be written as (20+7*0)+(20+7*1)+...+(20+7*n).

Therefore, the sum of the first 16 terms would be as follows:

20*16 + 7*0 + 7*1 + 7*2 +...+ 7*16 = 320 + 0 + 7 + 14 + 21 + ... + 112 = 320 + 952 =

= 1272

There are many ways to calculate the underlined bit, I'm just not showing it (on this occasion I just put it in my calculator).

so 20 + 27 + 34 + 41 ........ and we have to find out the 16th term so...
