Further, increasing human's population are subject to urbanization and industrialization. More industries are being installed and ultimately more pollution is happening. If we look at the example of oil industry, every year, oil industry globally produces approximately 33.6 million barrels per day of oil-contaminated water during drilling, extraction and refining processes. Crude oil contains significant proportions of hydrocarbons including alkanes, aromatics, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, as well as non-hydrocarbons such as naphthenic acids. If these compounds are released into the environment as wastewater without any treatment, they come in contact with the living organisms and cause several disease because of their carcinogenic, neurotoxic, or genotoxic nature. At first, it affects the aquatic life, then those aquatic organisms which are being eaten by secondary or tertiary consumers, they will also get affected.

If we look carefully, organisms within aquatic environment comes in the biosphere and hence, biosphere is also being affected. In fact, all of these spheres are somehow connected and disturbance of one sphere put a pressure on other one.
