To solve for the variable
b , we have to make it alone. The first thing we do is add
6.5 to both sides of the equation:

13.7b-6.5+6.5=-2.3b+8.3+6.5\\13.7b=-2.3b+14.8

Now add
2.3 to both sides:

13.7b+2.3b=-2.3b+14.8+2.3b\\16b=14.8

Finally, divide both sides by 16 to get the final answer:

(16b)/(16) =(14.8)/(16)

Therefore,

b=0.3

Hope this helps!
