Hello!

Question:

what value can replace the question mark to make the statement true? 3 2/8 + ? = 7 1/8

Answer:

3(7)/(8) Option B.

Explanation:

Rewriting our equation with parts separated

= 7+(1)/(8)-3-(2)/(8)

Solving the whole number parts

7-3=4

Solving the fraction parts

(1)/(8) -(2)/(8) =-(1)/(8)

Combining the whole and fraction parts

4-(1)/(8) =3(7)/(8)

Therefore, the answer is 3 and 7/8

Hope this helps!

Hey there!

3 2/8 + x = 7 1/8

13/4 + x = 57/8

x + 13/4 = 57/8

SUBTRACT 13/4 to BOTH SIDES

x + 13/4 - 13/4 = 57/8 - 13/4

SIMPLIFY IT!
x = 27/8

x = 3 7/8

Therefore, your answer is: x = 3 7/8

Good luck on your assignment & enjoy your day!
