From the figure, it is obvious that it is a similar triangle.

Thus, by property of similar triangle, we have;


(100)/(10)=(x)/(7.5)

Simplifying, we get;


10=(x)/(7.5)

Multiplying both sides of the equation 7.5, we get;


10 * 7.5 = x


75=x

Thus, the width of the canyon is 75 feet.
