Karin and Shane went to lunch at a cafe. They ordered a spinach salad for $7.00, a tuna sandwich for $7.45, and 2 glasses of lemonade for $1.95 each. The tax was $1.85. They gave the waiter $25.00. How much change should they have received?

Answer:

They should have received 5 dollars back

Explanation:

First step

Add 7.00 +7.45 which gives you 14.45

Next, multiply 2 times 1.95 which gives you 3.70

Then add 14.45(salad and sandwhich) +3.70(glasses of lemonade)+ 1.85(taxes)

you will end up with 20 dollars

You give the waiter 25 but the meal cost 20

Therefore you should get 5 dollars back

Hope this helps!!!
