Your new phew is standing on his deck which is 4 feet off the ground. He tosses his toy up into the air. The equation h(t) = -2t^2 + 7t +4 models the toys height, h, from the ground at t seconds after he threw it. How high is the toy after 1 second

Answer:

The height of the toy is 9 feet after 1 second

Explanation:

we have

h(t)=-2t^2+7t+4

where

h(t) is the toys height from the ground

t is the time in seconds

so

For t=1 sec

substitute the value of t in the quadratic equation and solve for h(t)

h(1)=-2(1)^2+7(1)+4

h(1)=9\ ft
