A member or follower of any of the Western Christian churches that are separate from the Roman Catholic Church and follow the principles of the Reformation, including the Baptist, Presbyterian, and Lutheran churches.

Protestant is a branch of Christianity that has broken away from the traditional, stronger-influenced Catholic Church, after believers thought that the Church has strayed away from the true teachings of Christianity. Most of these church's follow the Reformation teaching as well, which generally implied allowing the common folk to own and read the bible, and to give account to church leaders to make sure they themselves are following and not misinterpreting the bible and it's teachings.
